It's a time for everyone in our industry - from hire teams to tradespeople, builders, and site operators - to stop and refocus on what matters most: keeping every job safe, every single day.

Why it Matters

The theme for 2025, Safety: Every Job, Every Day, is a reminder that no matter your role, industry, or location, safety isn't something to think about only when things go wrong - it's something to live by, every day. According to Safe Work Australia, in 2023, 200 workers lost their lives at work, and more than 139,000 serious injury claims were made. While the long-term trend is improving, every number represents a real person, a family, and a story - and that's why complacency is never an option.

What's Happening in October

Throughout October, Safe Work Australia is sharing weekly resources and guides to help workplaces step through the risk management process - identifying hazards, assessing risks, controlling them, and reviewing safety measures. These tools are designed to make it easier for businesses of all sizes to build safer habits and start meaningful conversations about safety on site.
